(Santa Fe Springs)- Terris Jones rushed for 215-yards and scored three touchdowns as California High claimed the 2009 Del Rio League title with a 28-0 shut out of pre-season favorite Santa Fe Friday night at Titan Stadium.

The Condors, (6-2-1, 4-0) were in total control of the game and held the Chiefs (6-3, 2-2) scoreless for the first time in the regular season since 2004, when Edison shut them out 30-0. In fact, Cal’s first four drives resulted in its four scores.

Jones opened the scoring on the first play of the game as he took a hand-off from the Cal 34 and broke three tackles en route to a 66-yard touchdown run. Dudley Gamino increased the lead to 14-0 with just under five minutes left in the quarter, scoring on a 3-yard run.

Jones continued in the second quarter, capping a 10-play drive with a 1-yard run. He closed out his night with a 30-yard run with 5:12 left in the half. Jones finished with 24 carries and sat out the second half.

As good as Cal was, it was the opposite for the Chiefs. Quarterback Justin Rincon completed 12 of 32 attempts for 186-yards, was intercepted once, sacked three times and fumbled the ball twice. Rincon led SF in rushing with just 16 yards.

Santa Fe will face off against Pioneer on Thursday for the renewal of its rivalry, while Cal hosts La Serna at Whittier District Field in what was formerly known as the Mustang Bowl.
