(Chino Hills)- The Burbank Bulldogs bussed all the way out to Chino Hills to play Ayala on Friday night and banged their way to a 26-14 victory. The win was the first for new head coach Richard Broussard.

With its running game stalled and trailing 7-6 a the start of the third quarter, the Bulldogs went to the air. Senior quarterback Ryan Meredith put together a solid game, throwing for nearly 250 yards and three touchdowns (1 interception).

Meredith made scoring connections with Nicolas Cantong (12-yds), Dorian Householder (4-yds), and Tony Toledo (26-yds) before leaving the game late with an ankle injury. He didn’t return and will be evaluated in the morning.

Cantong also returned an interception 14-yards for a touchdown in the third quarter. Burbank tailback James Williams, who verbaled Washington State, rushed for 60 yards on 19 carries.
