“Hate keeps his head up and walks through the street.
Every stranger and drifter he greets.
And shakes hands with every loner he meets
With a serious look on his face.”

Kick it!

I would like to say “Thank You” in advance to “Andy’s Commander” for the gift of Larry Fitzgerald…I’m loving Fantasy Football these days.

I’m not talking St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams football for two weeks. Asking me how I feel about the Rams is like asking me how I feel about being given a parking ticket…in the parking lot…outside the football stadium…at Citrus College…on a Thursday night…before the APU-Grand Valley game…and being the only one who got a ticket…Not only is this bad mojo for Owls football…They are not going to see a dime from me…I demand trial by combat!

Charter Oak and Glendora have met 10 times this century and the Chargers hold a 7-3 advantage. Both teams have been winning, but neither have been overly impressive. The Tartans Matt Fink needs a breakout game…throwing the ball. If CO can keep him in the pocket they’ll be okay…I like the Chargers.

Word to the wise…You don’t tug on Superman’s cape, you don’t spit into the wind, you don’t pull the mask off the Lone Ranger…and you certainly never attempt to truck APU free safety Tyler Thornton. It’s a mistake from which you may not recover as Simon Fraser running back Chris Tolbert discovered Saturday night.

Muir being 0-3 is easy to handle. Perennially the Mustangs schedule up in non-league and then clean up in league play…but so far they’ve only scored 17 points in 12 quarters. This is Muir we’re talking about, not Hoover. So either somebody is embezzling some points away from the offense or everyone else has overrated them.

As for me…I’ve shoveled dirt on the Mustangs before only to have them reach through and grab me by the throat…I’m not doing it again.

Alright, alright…let’s not get overly excited just yet…Bellflower is 4-0 and the combined record of the teams they’ve beaten is 4-10…However, the Buccaneers are 4-0 and averaging over 33 points per game (three victories with 40 points or more). While three touchdowns have been scored against them, only one has been scored directly against the defense.

Bellflower gets Glenn on Thursday night and another blowout of the Eagles won’t give them added credibility…but they will have to stay focused…On October 3rd they play La Mirada…Then we’re really going to know about this team.

So am I supposed to get all warm and fuzzy because a handful of Dodger games are appearing on KDOC? Not working.

Three years ago, since I saw Lynwood quarterback Darryl Robinson Jr. on film, I’ve had a thing for the Knights. Talk about them all the time in the office and everyone got about as excited as the next Joe Biden speech. Playing in the San Gabriel Valley League with Paramount, Dominguez, and Downey (even Gahr for that matter) they just haven’t made any traction. But…as of today…they are 3-0 and have outscored opponents 154-17.

Did you know that Temple City is averaging 31 points through the first three weeks of this season? As recent as 2012 the Rams were scoreless through the first three games of that season only to rally and make the playoffs.

Last Add Temple City: The 95 points scored by the Rams is the most since they opened the 1977 season 96 points. TC was CIF champions that year. In 1973 they scored 97 the first three weeks and won a title that year, and in 1972 they scored 106 (still the record) and won CIF that year.

(Yes, I had nothing else to do today.)

I’m concerned about La Salle…They’ve got talent, but I worry about them going forward in the Angelus League…My advice (which is free and largely based on emotion) give the ball to Amon Milliner. Give it to him coming out of the locker room, going onto the field, leaving the field, and in the locker room at half time. His ability, and mere threat, to go yard on any given play makes Will Pyburn a better quarterback and his receivers more effective.

If “The Ranch” gets the win this week over “D-Ranch”, then I think we have to start talking about the Dons as a legitimate playoff team and…dare I say (dare, dare)…a contender in the Del Rio. Oh, I’ve always been a Malachi Allen fan.

Next Add Bellflower: They have not lost to Glenn this century.

If Logan Wolf remains healthy Big Bear wins the De Anza, which means a team like Valley Christian should be ready to pack its snow shoes in November. Note on Wolf, a quarterback, he’s passed for one touchdown but has run for six. So, no, they are not running a West Coast offense at the top of Highway 18.

Last Add Lynwood: Opponents combined record is 2-8.

Speaking of combined records, Rosemead is currently 0-4 its opponents (Northview, Diamond Ranch, San Dimas, Burroughs) are a combined 12-3.

Note to Keppel: Almont League is what counts…you don’t have to beat Maranatha, but you have to make a showing. Be sharp because things get real on October 10th against BG.

Northview versus Covina on Halloween night…the fate of second place in the Valle Vista hangs in the balance.

Last Add Bellflower: Running back Marquise Lowe is currently leading the Southeast Division in rushing with 717 yards and seven touchdowns.

In regards to South Hills: No, the new Nicholas Cage movie “Left Behind” is not about Huskies football.
