Top Ten: Mid Valley Division (10/28/2014)

By Duane Barker

The cream is rising to the top in the Mid Valley Division. Bell Gardens makes their way into the top ten but it may be a precarious spot as Montebello looms just outside. Sierra Canyon and Paraclete have some business to settle on November 7th while the rest of the division should cruise to selection Sunday.

1. Sierra Canyon (8-0) Only Viewpoint on the docket before showdown with Paraclete.

2. Northview (7-1) With Covina and Rowland left on the schedule the Viking’s biggest battle will be against complacency.

3. Paraclete (5-3) The Spirits will get to rest some starters this week in preparation for Sierra Canyon on November 7th.

4. Rosemead (4-4) All that’s left for the Panthers is to take care of business Friday against South El Monte, which has proved in the past no easy task.

5. San Dimas (5-3) The Saints narrowly escaped with a win over Covina and can breathe a little easier with only Rowland and Wilson remaining.

6. Pomona (4-4) Another week, another blowout win this time against Ganesha.

7. Covina (5-3) Lost a close battle with San Dimas but should feel good about the way they competed.

8. Azusa (5-3) The Aztecs replace Baldwin Park via their 16-13 overtime win over the Braves.

9. Viewpoint (7-1) Firebaugh was just what the doctor ordered to get the Patriots back in the win column.

10. Bell Gardens (3-5) Win over Schurr sets up a game for all the Almont marbles this Friday against Montebello.

In the mix:  Brentwood (6-2), Montebello (4-4), La Puente (5-3), El Monte (4-4), Bassett (5-3), Baldwin Park (4-4)
