The LA Galaxy lost to the Seattle Sounders 2-1 Sunday at Seattle’s Century Link Field. But by virtue of an away goal by Juninho the Galaxy advanced to the MLS Cup Final where they will play New England at the StubHub Center on Sunday.

The Galaxy was down 2-0 when Juninho scored off of a Landon Donovan corner kick nine minutes into the second half. The right footed blast struck the near post and ricocheted into the net. The goal put the Galaxy into the Final.

The Galaxy beat Seattle 1-0 last Sunday and even though the teams were tied at two in aggregate goals, the Galaxy advanced  because of an MLS rule that adds emphasis to away goals.

Clint Dempsey scored a goal and assisted on the other for the Sounders. Both goals came in the first half.

The Galaxy- New England game is set for Noon on Sunday.
