By Tim Peterson (Los Angeles) – Former LA Galaxy head coach Sigi Schmid passed away on Tuesday at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center at the age of 65 his family said Wednesday.

Galaxy Loses Game, Advances to Final

The LA Galaxy lost to the Seattle Sounders 2-1 Sunday at Seattle’s Century Link Field. But by virtue of an away goal by Juninho the Galaxy advanced to the MLS Cup Final where they will play New England at the StubHub Center on Sunday.
