By Tim Peterson (Los Angeles) – Former LA Galaxy head coach Sigi Schmid passed away on Tuesday at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center at the age of 65 his family said Wednesday.

Schmid Gets a Tie in Return to Galaxy

Onalfo Out, Sigi Schmid Back in for Galaxy

By Tim Peterson (Carson) – The Galaxy fired Head Coach Curt Onalfo and replaced him with Sigi Schmid, the team announced Thursday. Schmid previously coached LA from 1999- 2004.

Seattle Sinks Galaxy in Second Half

Galaxy Whitewashes Whitecaps

By Tim Peterson (Carson) – Robbie Keane scored in the 12th minute and  Jeff “Big Red” Larentowicz added a goal early in the second half to lead the Galaxy to a 2-0 shutout over Vancouver Monday night before a sold out Fourth of July crowd of 27, 167 at Stubhub Center.

Dos Santos, Galaxy, Silence Sounders

By Tim Peterson (Carson) – Giovani Dos Santos had a goal and an assist in his MLS debut and the Galaxy broke a tie with two second half goals to beat the Seattle Sounders 3-1 Sunday before a sold out crowd of 27,000 at StubHub Center.
