Northwest Division Newcomer of The Year 2014: Whittier Christian’s Justin Osborn

He might be only a sophomore but to Whittier Christian fans Justin Osborn is "The Great And Powerful Oz".

He might be only a sophomore but to Whittier Christian fans Justin Osborn is “The Great And Powerful Oz”.

For Whittier Christian fans if somebody wanted to take a lock box, put the 2014 football season inside it, and drop into to some deep recess of the Pacific Ocean it would fine with them except for the performance of sophomore running back Justin Osborn

The 6’1”, 205 pound running back shined through a brutal 1-9 (3-7 on the field) season. Over the course of ten games Osborn carried the ball 123 times for 1,080 yards and eight touchdowns. He also caught the ball 42 times for 707 yards and nine more scores.

With all of those touches Osborn only lost the ball once by fumble.
Watching him on film, at least to the MVS staff, he reminded us a little bit of former Herald rushing-receiving threat Grant Escobar.

…And that’s not a bad comparison.
