Central Division Offensive Coordinator of The Year 2014: San Marino’s Mike Hobbie

The picture we have of Coach Hobbie is not a good one, so we're going with the school logo. If you have one you'd like to send us, we'll gladly use it.

It’s no surprise seeing the San Marino Titans excel on offense. In the Mike Hobbie era it is a given that they are going to do something special. From Matt Wofford to Andrew Ferraco, to Carson Glazier this offense has been machine like.

Head Coach Hobbie, who serves as his own offensive coordinator, coaxed a season for the ages out of his offense and quarterback Glazier in 2014. In twelve games the junior southpaw threw for 3,704 yards on 187 of 298 passing and boggling 54 touchdown passes. The next closest quarterback in touchdown passes within the division was Charter Oak’s Kam Brown with 33 and Monrovia’s Asaph Zamora with 24.

Hobbie’s team went 9-3 and led the Central Division in points scored. This was accomplished after Tyler Spitzer was lost for the season to a knee injury in the Titans opening win over Arroyo. The offense six times exceeded 50 points in a game, twice topped 70, and its lowest out put was 31 in the second round playoff loss to Charter Oak.

(***Note***—The picture we have of Mike Hobbie isn’t flattering, if you have a good one send it to us and we’ll be happy to post it up.)
