1. Pittsburgh Steelers’ running back Le’Veon Bell is declared out for Saturday’s AFC wild card playoff game against Baltimore due to a knee injury.

2. The New Orleans Saints fire three assistant coaches including former Ram receiver Henry Ellard who was receivers coach. There is no word yet on the status of DC Rob Ryan.

3. Oregon, who blew out Florida State 59-20 Thursday in the Rose Bowl, is college football’s winningest program since the start of the 2010 season with a record of 60-7. The Seminoles are second at 58-11.

4. The 59 points scored by Oregon established a Rose Bowl record for points in a game.

5. Cleveland’s LeBron James is expected to be out at least two weeks with injuries to his knee and back.

6. Bill Polian told the Buffalo Bills he is out of the running for a possible front office position with his former team and will stay on at ESPN.

7. Tennessee wins its first Bowl game since 2008 with a 45-28 win over Iowa in the Taxslayer Bowl.

8. Michigan State overcame a 20 point deficit late in the third quarter to beat Baylor 42-41 in the highest scoring Cotton Bowl ever.

9. Ohio State rallies from a 21-6 first half deficit to beat Alabama 42-35  in the Sugar Bowl to set up the National Title game with Oregon on January 12 in Arlington, Texas.

10. “Oregon won by 40?…oh, ha ha ha ha (laughs)”  – Ohio State HC Urban Meyer after being told of the Ducks rout of Florida State.
