Watson Earns NFLPA Collegiate Bowl MVP Honors

Terrell Watson earns game MVP honors in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl game.

Terrell Watson – NFLPA Collegiate Bowl MVP

(Carson, CA) APU’s Terrell Watson carried the ball nine times for 55-yards and a touchdown for the National and wins the MVP award.

Watson’s touchdown came in the first quarter when National fullback Channing Fugate fumble on the exchange at the goal line. Watson picked up the lose ball and was deemed to have broken the plane before USC Trojan John Tavai knocked the ball loose. Watson also played some fullback and on punt and kick coverage teams for the squad coached by former NFL head coach Mike Martz.

The award was well earned but maybe a little bittersweet as the Cougars were snubbed by the NCAA Divions II playoff commitee and left out of the post season playoffs.

Cougar offensive lineman Cody Clay also saw action but from the opposite side of the field for the American team coached by Mike Holmgren.
