Z-Nation Heads North!

San Dimas HC Bill Zernickow steps down after a ten year run

San Dimas HC Bill Zernickow is heading to Oregon.

(UPDATE: Former Saints freshman HC JT Rentschler is headed north as well)

Former San Dimas HC Bill Zernickow has agreed to become the head football coach at Tualatin High School in Tualatin, Oregon.

The decision shuts down months of speculation that has had Zernickow landing at Glendora, Claremont, and a dozen spots in between.

“I am so honored and humbled to be the new head football coach at Tualatin High,” said Zernickow. “My family and staff can’t wait to roll up our sleeves and get to work.”

Going north with Zernickow will be former Saints defensive coordinator Brian Mustain, and current assistants/former players Dillon Corona and Jake Barbosa.

In eleven seasons at SD Zernickow compiled a record of 86-27, five final four appearances, and two CIF titles. Tualatin, located thirteen miles south of Portland, had been a consistent area power until falling to an 0-9 record in 2014.

“Life is full of adventures and experience. This new adventure was just too perfect to pass up. How many times in life can you actively teach your family how to trust in God and take a leap of faith?”
