3.) The Rio Hondo Prep (15-11) boys play in the Division 6 Quarterfinals tonight against Hesperia Christian (22-7).

4.) Dodger outfielder Carl Crawford guaranteed to make $21-million this season

5.) Tomorrow night the Rio Hondo Prep (14-10) girls host the Division 6 Semifinal game against California Lutheran (23-3).

6.) On this date in 1963 Mickey Mantle sings a contract with the Yankees for $100,000.

7.) Maranatha (18-8) boys goes to Valley Christian (22-8) tonight at home in the 4A Semifinals.

8.) The numbers on A.J. Hawk, who was released yesterday by the Green Bay Packers. In nine seasons Hawk, a first round draft choice out of Ohio State, was eligible to play in 144 regular season games. Hawk played in 142 of them. He started 136 of them.

9.) Covina Colts all purpose standout Eric “Pooh” Williams (senior-to-be) 2014 stats: Caught 63 passes for 962 yards and 15 touchdowns. Rushed for 279 yards and three touchdowns. Had a punt return for a touchdown. A kick-off return for a touchdown. Even completed a pass for four yards.
