1. UCLA Associate head coach Adrian Klemm has been suspended while officials investigate whether he committed rules violations.

2. Longtime New England nose tackle Vince Wilfork signs a two-year, $9 million deal with the Houston Texans.

3. The Oakland Raiders release Matt Schaub less than a year after acquiring him to be their starting quarterback.

4. Tim Tebow worked out for the Philadelphia Eagles but a contract reportedly has not yet been discussed.

5. Hampton beats Manhattan 74-64 and Mississippi knocks out BYU 94-90 in the NCAA play in games.

6. SMU Coach Larry Brown has coached 13 teams in the ABA, NBA and college over a 41 coaching career. He is the only coach to win an NCAA championship and an NBA championship. Thursday he will face UCLA, a team he led to the national championship game in 1980.

7. Former UCLA center Jack Haley passed away at the age of 51 of heart disease. Haley played nine seasons in the NBA and was a member of the Chicago Bulls 1996 championship team.

8. Howie Kendrick hits a three run home run and the Dodgers and Rangers battle to an 11-11 tie in a cactus league game in Arizona. The game featured seven errors and 28 hits.

9. Happy Birthday to former NFL receiver Andre “Bad Moon” Rison who turns 48 today.

10. On this day in 1985 Baseball Commissioner Peter Ueberroth reinstates Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle.
