KISS Chewed Up by Sabercats

(San Jose) – Erik Meyer threw for 222 yards and five touchdown passes to lead San Jose to a 54-28 win over the LA KISS Saturday night in San Jose.

Odie Armstong scored on a five yard run early in the first quarter and Meyer followed that up with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Reggie Gray and a 14-yard strike to Rich Ranglin. It was 20-0 after one and the Cats never looked back.

Gray finished with 10 receptions for 97 yards and two scores.

Adrian McPherson completed 12 of 25 for 155 yards and two touchdowns for the KISS. Donovan “Captain” Morgan caught five passes 141 yards and three scores. Brian Zybdniewski replaced McPherson in the fourth quarter and threw a pair of touchdown passes- both to Morgan.

The KISS fell to o-2 with the loss and will face the Las Vegas Outlaws at home next week. The Sabercats improved to 2-0.

 

AFL Notes: The Arizona Rattlers have been assigned former KISS kick returner AJ Cruz on a two year contract. Cruz led the AFL as a rookie last season averaging 22.5 yards per kickoff return.
