1. The NFL suspends Dallas Cowboy defensive end Greg Hardy (formerly of the Carolina Panthers) for 10 games for violating the personal conduct policy.

2. Scott Brooks is fired as the head coach at Oklahoma City after seven years.

3. Ohio State Freshman guard D’Angelo Russell declares for the NBA draft.

4. Mike Budenholzer of the Atlanta Hawks is named NBA coach of the year.

5. The Carson City Council unanimously approved a privately financed stadium for the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders just two months after the public announcement of the $1.7 billion project.
