(Temple City) – Monrovia scored a run in the seventh inning to snap a tie and went on to beat Temple City 2-1 Friday in Rio Hondo League action.
With the victory, the Wildcats improved to 10-0 in league (20-3 overall) and moved to four games ahead of the second place San Marino (5-3).
Isaiah Ramos went five innings for Monrovia allowing a run and four hits. Justin Rosedale and Brian McConnell finished up. Ramos had to be at his best to beat Josh Speakes. Speakes threw five innings for the Rams allowing a run and three hits while fanning four. Zach Jarrard came on to pitch the sixth and seventh.
Temple City fell to 3-5 in the Rio Hondo and 10-8 on the year.
