(Frisco, TX) – FC Dallas scored twice in the last 13 minutes to beat the Galaxy 2-1 Saturday night. The loss snapped LA’s five game unbeaten streak.
Blas Perez scored in the 77th minute to get FC Dallas even as he shook the Galaxy defense and got one by LA goalkeeper Jaime Penedo. The game winner came 12 minutes later when Tesho Akindele rifled a shot by Penedo.
Gyasi Zardes scored his second goal of the year to give the Galaxy the lead. After a scoreless first half, Zardes headed in a corner kick from Stefan Ishizaki in the 59th minute. LA had a couple of opportunities late but came up empty.
The Galaxy again played without Robbie Keane and Jose Villarreal who were out with injuries.
The Galaxy fell to 3-3-5 with the defeat while FC Dallas is battling Vancouver for the top spot in the Western Conference at 6-2-2.
