Heather Bacon struck out seven and allowed one hit through six innings, while Kali Cancelosi pitched a perfect seventh inning to lead Crescenta Valley to a dominate 11-0 victory to take the Duarte Tournament over L.A. Marshall.
The Falcons bats were on fire as San Jose State bound Stephanie Ziemann went three for five and Arizona State bound Bailie Kirker crushed three home runs and also went three for five.
The Barristers stayed close for three innings only allowing Kirker’s home run, and losing pitcher Megan Reiner appeared in command until Crescenta Valley broke it open in the fifth.
The wheels came off the wagon for Marshall in the fifth when adventures in the outfield occurred for the the Barristers right fielder Yvette Perez who made two errors to help the Falcons to a four run outburst.
Bacon was masterful going perfect through 3 2/3 innings and only allowed a batter to get to first base twice during the game. Cancelosi was able to strike out the final two batters close out the Championship for Crescenta Valley.
