2.) Former Houston Oilers/Los Angeles Rams/Oakland Raiders quarterback Dan Pastorini turns 66 today.

3.) On this date in 1907 Glendale football standout Marion Morrison was born…He later changed his name to John Wayne.

4.) The Chicago Bears release defensive tackle Ray McDonald (signed this spring) after he was charged with domestic violence and child endangerment.

5.) In prep baseball: Monrovia plays at Moreno Valley, while Temple City plays at Citrus Hill today…but Garden Grove comes to San Dimas today to face the 29-0 Saints. USA Today’s number one ranked team in the nation.

6.) On this date in 1959 Pittsburgh Pirates starter Harvey Haddix pitches 12 perfect innings against the Milwuakee Braves, but loses the game in the 13th on a Joe Adcock double.

7.) In 2011, as a freshman, Peter Lambert took snaps in a regular season game for the San Dimas Saints. Mid Valley Sports listed him as a player to watch for Bill Zernickow, but was later informed Lambert would focus solely on baseball.

8.) Houston Texans cancel start of OTAs due to flooding: A Memorial Day storm left parts of the Houston area under water.
