1. The Lakers draft Ohio State point guard D’Angelo Smith with the number two pick in the draft passing on Duke Center Jahlil Okafor.

2. Minnesota takes Kentucky Center Karl-Anthony Towns with the first pick.

3. Four teams are set to visit DeAndre Jordan at home when the free agency period begins July 1- Lakers, Clippers, Mavericks and Bucks.

4. The Air Assault began today and will run all day Saturday at Bonita High School.

5. The New York Knicks’ pick of Kristaps Porzingas was met by a chorus of boos from Knick fans at the Barclays Center Thursday night.

6. Ryne Sandberg steps down as Philadelphia Phillies’ manager.

7. The Boston Celtics offered six draft picks, including four potential first rounders, to Charlotte for the Hornets number nine pick but Charlotte declined.
