The Devil Made Me Do It 12-20-09

Wondering if this comment deserves a technical foul for a coach?

“Can you help your partner out?  She is horrible.”

Personally, the officiating crew that was at the semi-finals game last night seemed to be a little sensitive during the game.

The other technical foul was issued after the following occurred.

The offense made a mistake not to the liking of the coach in which he says “Wow!” and slams his clipboard.  The official assumes it is because of her and slams the “T”.

I think they should have a sliding pay scale for officials.  Right now no matter how good or bad they are it is a $70 payday.

Make some bad calls the get less.  Determine the outcome of the game and you’re lucky to make anything.  The referee is not noticed and it is bonus time.

If anyone is keeping track of the La Canada’s coach Tamar Hill’s technical foul count, it only took her nine games to get her first of the year.

“I only had one all last season,” said Hill.  “That was a pretty tame technical.”  So Hill is on pace for Rasheed Wallace like numbers.

Add Lady Spartans:  Guard/Forward Kate Hansen missed the U.S. Olympic Luge Team by 0.2 seconds.  We are attempting to get her in studio before she heads for World Cup duty at the beginning of 2010.

Last comment La Canada:  It might be a good idea to remember your basketball shoes and not resort to using the team managers Vans.

If Viacom, Fox, or any other media outlet wants a good reality-comedy show I have an idea.

The game between La Canada and Bishop Amat was the championship game.  I stayed around to see Notre Dame and Sonora.

The Lancers should be Lady Knights Tournament champs.

Interesting side note on that game is Bishop Amat’s head coach Richard Wiard against former assistant coach Melissa Barajas. (Now the head coach at Sonora.)

In the third place game, the Lady Spartans are already 1-0 against the Knights with a  36-34 win on December 8.

The first meeting saw North Carolina State bound Kody Burke scored 23 points for Notre Dame.
