Chan, Titans Run Past Tigers

(South Pasadena)—In a battle of unbeatens, and a game that would determine the Rio Hondo League championship, San Marino running back Michael Chan guided the Titans to a 35-0 victory over the South Pasadena Tigers Friday.

The SM victory ensured that the Crowley Cup and Perpetual Plaque would stay with the Titans for one more year.

San Marino rushed for just over 200 yards, but it was Chan who would lead the way with 176 yards on 25 carries and three touchdown runs.

The Tigers woes began late in the second quarter when lost Max Luck to an injury. The wide receiver did not return to the game after having to be helped off the field with an apparent leg injury.

With just under a minute left in the first half, and the Titans leading 21-0, Tigers’ linebacker Anthony Bakhshi intercepted a Carson Glazier pass and returned it to the San Marino 20 yard line.

South Pasadena’s best scoring opportunity stalled when it couldn’t in the end and subsequent field goal attempt was blocked by the Titans J.P. Shohfi.

Shohfi wasn’t finished. He ended the game with 8-catches for 82 yards and a touchdown. Carson Glazier although throwing his first 2 interceptions of the season still managed to finish 13 of 20 for 189 yards and a touchdown.

San Marino also used Mark Wicke at Quarterback on the goal line as he punched in a 3-yard run.

The Tigers Michael Partida finished the game five of 15 for 104 yards. He was sacked three times and picked off once bye.
