Rosemead was too much for Marshall

(Rosemead) – The clock ran fast for this game and so did Rosemead in a 41-8 rout of Marshall Friday night in a Mission Valley League contest on Homecoming.

The Panthers ignited their crowd early as Senior Robbie Franco ran for the first touchdown of the game for a 7-0 Rosemead lead.

Early in the second quarter Marshall moved the ball down to the Rosemead 15 but the Panther defense held as a field goal was missed.

The Panthers scored again as Franco broke off a 27-yard run and Steven Nava connected with Elisha Garner, at the 5 yard line to set it up. Then Nava hit Jordan Parham on a touchdown pass to make it 14-0.

With the alumni looking on from the sidelines, Camacho plowed into the end zone with less than two minutes until halftime to give the Panthers a 21-0 lead.

On the next series Franco broke through the line and blocked a punt to put Rosemead in position again.

With less than a minute left in the half. Franco scores again on a ten-yard run and the Panthers go into the break up 28-0.

In the third quarter Franco got his third TD of the night for a 35-0 lead.

Felix Montor tacks on the final Panthers’ score as he finds the end zone just eight seconds into the fourth quarter.

Marshall finally gets on the board with five minutes left in the game when Duguesclin Paul got loose for a 46-yard touchdown. The Eagles added the two point conversion.

As the final seconds tick off, Rosemead students, players, and alumni come together to celebrate their Homecoming victory.

Next Friday Rosemead will conclude the regular season by hosting crosstown rival, Arroyo.
