(San Marino) – J.P. Shohfi scored three times and Carson Glazier threw for three touchdowns as San Marino rolled to a 35-21 Mid-Valley Division first round playoff win over Diamond Ranch Friday night.

The Titans went up 14-0 in the first half but gave up a touchdown with just four seconds left in the half when Trey Green hauled in a 42-yard touchdown pass from Joe Sebastian to cut the lead in half.

The score seemingly should have given Diamond Ranch momentum coming out in the second half but instead it was San Marino who seized the moment. The Titans needed just 36 seconds to score as they went 72 yards in four plays to go up 21-7. Glazier hit Aiden Santino for 64 yards down to the eighth-yard line and after a penalty moved the ball to the four. Michael Chan did the rest blasting from four yards out for the two touchdown lead.

After a short Panther punt, San Marino was in business again at the DR 28. Five plays later Glazier fired a strike to Shohfi who sprinted in for a 17-yard score. There was still 7:28 left in the third quarter but it was apparent to everybody in the stadium that that was the knockout blow.

The Panthers picked up a gift touchdown just before the end of the third when Deshawn Ellis scooped up a San Marino fumble and scooted 28 yards for the score but that was as close as D Ranch would get.

*** Shohfi’s 35 yard reception in the fourth quarter made it 35-14.

*** Davion Gaisie led the D Ranch offensive attack with 160 yards 20 carries.
