1. Kansas St. fullback Glen Gronkowski, brother of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, met with the Patriots on Wednesday.

3. Kenechi Udeze, an All-America defensive end for USC in 2003, has been hired to coach the Trojans’ defensive line.

4. The LA Galaxy signed defender Jelle Van Damme, of Belgium club Standard Liege, to a contract.

5. Adrian Medrano still hasn’t been officially announced as the head coach at El Rancho.

6. The CIF Southern Section member schools passed an action Wednesday stating that playoff divisions will be based on competitive equity in teams, and not on leagues. The new format will be in place for the 2016-17 school year and teams will find out their divisions annually every August.

7. New Mexico has offered La Mirada class of 2017 players DB/WR Elijah Hicks, LB Chase Newman, and TE/DE Sire Woods.

8. Tyronn Lue has been named the head coach for the East in the NBA All-Star game. Lue has coached just three games in the NBA since taking over at Cleveland in place of the fired David Blatt.

9. On this date in 1969 the Buffalo Bills select running back O.J. Simpson from USC with the first pick in the NFL draft.

10. Happy Birthday to San Antonio Spurs HC Gregg Popovich who turns 67 today.
