(Glendora) – Azusa Pacific had one last shot but Bruce English’s long three from beyond half court came up empty and the Cougars fell to Hawaii Pacific 83-80 Monday night at Felix Event Center.

It was a back and forth affair that saw the lead change hands 13 times and there were five ties. Hawaii Pacific led 36-34 at the half. The Sharks biggest lead of the night was eight and the Cougars was five-the first five points of the contest.

Those five points of the game were courtesy of Lydell Cardwell, who knocked down a three and a short jumper to get the Cougs off and running. The lead didn’t last long however as the Sharks surged back.
