  4. KC LB Justin Houston may miss entire 2016 season after having to undergo ACL surgery.
  5. Angels Daniel Nava is batting .519 in 29 games with 15 hits.
  6. Frosted, Keen Ice, California Chrome, Hoppertunity, and Mshawhish all confirmed to start in $10 Million Dubai World Cup on Saturday, with a post time of 10am.
  7. La Canada Girls Basketball broke records with the most wins in a season (29), going undefeated at home (16-0), and getting to the CIF Finals and Southern Regional CIF State Finals for the first time in school history.
  8. On this day in 1979, the NHL voted to accept four WHA teams (Quebec Nordiques, Hartford Whalers, Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets). Of the four the only original team remaining is Edmonton (Quebec moved to Denver, Hartford to Carolina and Winnipeg to Phoenix).
