(Monrovia) – Isaiah Ramos threw five shutout five innings and Patrick Goebel came on for the last two as host Monrovia beat Temple City 2-1 Friday in Rio Hondo League action.
Ramos also belted a two run home run that proved to be the difference for the Wildcats. The Rams picked up a run in the sixth to get close but Goebel retired the side in order in the seventh to nail it down. Also for Monrovia Zach Zepeda walked and scored a run, Will Clayton had a hit and two stolen bases and Gabe Arellano, Marcelo Vega and Ben Goettling all had base hits.
Monrovia improved to 7-2 with the victory (2-0 in the Rio Hondo) while Temple City dropped to 6-2-1 and 1-2 in league.
