4.) On this day in 1947 Holy Cross beats Oklahoma 58-47 for the 9th NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship.

5.) “Just an observation from years of reading this blog is that Monrovia bloggers like to lay claim to a lot of kids. It seems all you have to do is drive through Monrovia at any point in your life and you become a “Monrovia kid”. Live in Duarte and drive through Monrovia on your way to In & Out in Arcadia and you have now become a “Monrovia kid”. Grandpa went to Monrovia high School in 1952 and all his kids and grandkids are now “Monrovia kids” even though they may have grown up in Indiana. Live in Upland and played Pop Warner football in Monrovia when you were 6, you’re now a “Monrovia kid”. It’s funny, but I’ve heard it from Bryant, Monrovia, Wild Cat Pride and especially from Greenie over the years. So what’s the deal? Are there really a million kids that woulda, coulda, shoulda played at Monrovia? Or are you guys just horders?”—MVS commenter “RAMS FAN”

6.) Villanova.

7.) ”That in itself is absolutely absurd, it’s 100 percent incorrect.” Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher on the team’s decision to draft Michael Sam in 2014 just to avoid being on Hard Knocks.
