2. Cubs pitcher Kyle Hendricks took a no-hitter into the ninth inning against the St. Louis Cardinals before Jeremy Hazelbaker broke it up to start the ninth.
3. La Canada’s Drake Beasley has been denied transfer because of “Undue Influence.”
4. Dodgers extend NL West Lead to 4 games over Giants. Magic Number is 16.
5. The reincarnated Cleveland Browns which started play in 1999, are 1-16 in season openers.
6. Former St. Francis QB Ty Gangi is backup quarterback at University of Nevada. In Saturday’s loss he went 2 of 3 for 88 yards.
7. Downey’s RB Emari Demercado has 410 yards rushing and three touchdowns in two games.
8. One-armed pitcher Hugh Daily of Cleveland (Forest City) pitched a no-hitter against Philadelphia.
9. Happy Birthday to former La Canada Girl’s Basketball coach Tamar Hill.
