2.) Kenley Jansen & Clayton Kershaw cover final three innings in Dodgers, 4-3, win over the Nationals on Thursday night. Dodgers advance to the NLCS and will face Cubs on Saturday.

4.) San Diego Chargers defeat Denver Broncos, 21-13, on Thursday night. In first half Chargers put together 18-play, 75 yard drive that takes 10:03 off the clock and ends with a field goal.

5.) On this day in 2003 fan Steve Bartman deflects a ball away from Chicago Cubs outfielder Moises Alou who is attempting to catch the foul ball. The Cubs give up eight runs in the inning and lose the playoff game to the Marlins 8-3. The Cubs go on to lose the series with Bartman’s gaffe seen as the turning point.

6.) On this date in 1973 the Los Angeles Rams beat the Dallas Cowboys 37-31 at the Coliseum. Rams wide receiver Harold Jackson caught four first half touchdown passes from quarterback John Hadl to build an early lead.

7.) Vin Scully appears on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

8.) Los Angeles Rams cornerback Trumaine Johnson is out for Sunday’s game at Detroit.

9.) Philip Rivers passes Dan Fouts as San Diego Chargers all-time leading passer.
