1. With their 44-7 win over Central Washington, the APU Cougars wrapped up the GNAC Football title. It’s the Cougars third title in four years.

2. The Chicago Cubs live to fight another day with a 3-2 win over the Cleveland Indians in game five of the World Series.

3. South El Monte’s Sal Tovar needs only 80 yards against Mt. View on Friday to reach the 2,000 yard mark.

4. APU Cougar Weston Carr had nine catches for 189-yards and four touchdowns in Saturday’s win over Central Washington. Earlier in the day Weston’s brother Austin, had eight catches for 158-yards for Northwestern against Ohio State.

5. Alabama, Michigan, Clemson and Washington are atop the last AP Poll prior to the first CFP Poll due out Tuesday.

6. Fred “the Crime Dog” Mc Griff and Alabama head coach Nick Saban share a birthday today. McGriff 53 and Saban 65.

7. After 14 seasons in the NFL with the Houston Texans and the Tennessee Titans, wide receiver Andre Johnson announces his retirement.

8. On this day in 1968 the Milwaukee Bucks won their first game ever beating the Detroit Pistons 138-118.

9. La Serna and Santa Fe will square off Thursday night at 7:00 p. m. at Cal High School for the Del Rio League title.
