(Glendale)–Crescenta Valley turned the ball over six times and saw its eight game winning streak snapped in a 38-29 loss to Saugus on Friday night in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 6 football playoffs at Moyse Field.

A safety and a 69-yard return of the free-kick by Will Rees for a touchdown put CV up 9-0 early in the contest.

After Saugus rallied to take a 14-9 lead, the Pacific League champs rallied on Brandon Beardt’s 8-yard run midway through the second period to make it 15-14.

From here things got out of hand and the Falcons season came to an end.
