Andrew Ellfers GNAC Offensive Player of the Year!
(Portland, OR) Azusa Pacific University’s Andrew Ellfers was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year. Ellfers finished the regular season throwing for 2,008 yards and 18 touchdown and was also the Cougars second leading rusher with 471 yards and another seven scores.
Ellfers will now lead the Cougars in to Sioux City, South Dakota in the first round of the NCAA Division II playoffs.
Victor Santa Cruz GNAC Coach of the Year!
Also receiving honors were head coach Victor Santa Cruz as GNAC Coach of the Year. Santa Cruz led the Cougars to a 9-2 record and the schools first appearance in the NCAA Divsion II Playoffs.
Weston Carr received Freshman of the Year Honors. Carr had a team leading 46 receptions for 837 yards and seven touchdowns during the regular season.
