(San Gabriel) – Joe Ledesma is out as the head coach at San Gabriel multiple sources confirmed Wednesday.
The head football coaching job is listed on the CIF Southern Section website and also comes with a teaching position.
Ledesma went 7-23 overall in three years at the helm. This past season the Matadors went 3-7 overall and 1-4 in the Almont which was good for fifth place.
San Gabriel hasn’t made the playoffs since 2011 when the Mats, under then HC Jude Oliva, advanced to the Mid-Valley Division Championship game against Monrovia.
@nwo, they are also losing them to Bishop Amat and other schools
Lots of good talent at Rosemead Rebels, Rosemead and Schurr coaches came by last year to talk to the kids,
I really feel they should bring In JC Lopez as HC. He knows the Area well has the experience and has coached under great coaches like Torres at Alhambra Vinnie Lopez at Pacifica and Plantias at Bosco. He can bring back SG new doubt in my mind. I sure hope administration don’t blow this and bring in some other person just so he gets to put it on his resume and leave in two years. Lopez is the only choice here.
@Superman. That is where San Gabriel will find their players. Right now they are losing them to Schurr and Rosemead.
I guarantee that Santa Fe remembers that title loss to Schurr in 2006, even though it escapes the well-watered brain cells of anonymous.
