Ledesma is in a really good situation now. Winning at SG is very difficult, winning seasons have not been the norm so you’re right I don’t think they should have gotten rid of him especially without knowing who would take over.

Maggiore had quite a few more years under his belt than those other guys. Not saying he’s not young but I believe he was coaching for close to 20 years If not more

I do find it strange that young successful coaches at their peak suddenly quit. Mochetti,White,Ziola,Maggiore. Who retires as a young man after just starting a great run? I mean they ain’t 50 year old guys right? Makes no sense. All these programs have been under a cloud at times. Perhaps these coaches were asked to resign in lieu of being fired. That is why none of these young excellent coaches are practicing their craft and no one was in line for the job. Just a guess not an accusation.
From T. Peterson: You completely missed it here. None of these coaches were asked to resign. They all stepped down on their own. Why? because it’s a grind. It’s a 12 month a year job now and they’re working for peanuts. They miss having time with their families, seeing their kids. Not to mention the delusional parents who all think that little Johnny will one day be playing on Sundays and hassles the coaches about his playing time or how he’s being utilized. The crap gets old after awhile. I’ve seen too many coaches burn out on this crap. Believe me I wish none of them resigned. They’re all great coaches. But they stepped down on their own. Believe me.

What I don’t understand is why schools fire their head coach but don’t have a replacement in mind. Regardless how people feel, I promise you that Ledesma is a better coach than no coach at all.

That’s a good question and who ever answers it and is successful at SG school to the past glory will be known as the best coach in the area like coach O ,that is why so many people care because there is a small amount of hope

SG is a dumpster fire. No athletes and title IX. Who wants to get their heads bashed in every Friday night. I don’t know much about the administration, but that’s where it should start. There are reasons why schools are terrible in football, it all starts at the top with the admin. Keppel, SG, Gladstone, Blair, Bassett, Workman, etc….

The re-posting of the SG job is a sign of the times. They have to find a candidate that fits into the current or projected teaching vacancies the school has or will have. They did fly it with a Social Science and or PE position so it should not be that difficult to find a coach with those type of credentials because they are traditionally the credential that most coaches hold. But, that does not mean the candidates will be good for the job, that just means they are able to fit into the position as far as master scheduling and class structuring is concerned. The last statement usually being the deciding factor in determining if candidate A or B gets the job.
