(Los Angeles) – Defensive lineman Dillon Faamatau, who played at Norwalk (class of 2015), has signed to continue his football career and to further his education at USC, he confirmed Monday.
Faamatau went to Arizona State out of high school but lost his freshman year to injury and left the school. He came back and played for Cerritos College last year.
“I’ve faced a lot adversity in the past few months. From coming back home this past August from ASU and playing at Cerritos College, to not knowing if anyone will ever give me the opportunity to play at the Division 1 level ever again. Today I have received the greatest news that I will be granted the opportunity to carry on my dreams of playing college football. I would like to thank the USC coaches for providing me with the opportunity to further my academic and athletic career at USC. I am proud to announce that I have committed to the University of Southern California. #FightOn!!”, Faamatau posted on Twitter.
Welcome to USC! I look forward to hearing about him.
This guy was a true believer in “Don’t Wish For It, Work For It!” So proud of him. That’s one thing I’ve always told my kids, keep working and good things will follow. Thanks MVS for always doing a great job of covering my boys! Dillon great things are coming your way
This is one of those stories that makes us feel like all things are possible. Thanks to the Trojans for believing in this kid, and thanks to MVS for laying down the verse.
