(Carson) – The Galaxy scored two second half goals and went on to beat Sacramento Republic FC 2-0 Wednesday night to advance to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open Cup.
Ari Lassiter scored on a free kick in the 47th minute to give LA a 1-0 lead. Just two minutes later Bradford Jamieson did it himself streaking past the Sacramento defense and firing a shot that was deflected by a defender and into the net.
Galaxy goalkeeper Jon Kempin made the goals stand up. The Galaxy will face San Jose in the quarterfinals on July 10.
