By Tim Peterson (Los Angeles) – Former LA Galaxy head coach Sigi Schmid passed away on Tuesday at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center at the age of 65 his family said Wednesday.

Onalfo Out, Sigi Schmid Back in for Galaxy

By Tim Peterson (Carson) – The Galaxy fired Head Coach Curt Onalfo and replaced him with Sigi Schmid, the team announced Thursday. Schmid previously coached LA from 1999- 2004.

Galaxy Advances in U.S. Open Cup

By Tim Peterson (Carson) – The Galaxy scored two second half goals and went on to beat Sacramento Republic FC 2-0 Wednesday night to advance to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open Cup.
