You got my message! Arroyo deserves to be in the middle or the bottom half of a below middle of the state league. They are better than Glendale, Hoover, Temple City, Pasadena and So. Pasadena. So why not? Maybe, make them be in the division they should be. Ha ha ha!

Division 12 is like NBA summer league. It’s only interesting because nothing else to talk about. Has arroyo played any team rated in la times in the last 20 years?

Muir won a championship in 1987. 1987has nothing to do with 2017 . Just like 2012 has nothing to do with 2017.The Sierra canyon team that arroyo played is completely different from last years team.arroyo schedule is weak .they haven’t beat a team of Pacific league caliber . I think they canfit in the Pacific league.Muir wasn’t the best team last year, but CV ,burbank,Arcadia will smash arroyo.Arroyo doesn’t see weekly competition . They had 2 competitive games last year.this year Muir team will beat arroyo and make a deep run in playoffs . Lavar ball voice” don’t be surprised . I told you so.”

Wasn’t it just 2 years ago Arroyo forfeited many games because of cheating. Cheating when your team was one division up from 8 man football. I don’t understand the interest.

Back a few years ago, with the exception of 1- 3rd place finish Arroyo would win the MVL or come in 2nd place. More wins than losses. The MVL back then was in the Midvalley Division. It was Division 10. They did not win a championship, but they competed with Sierra Canyon, who just won a state title. As a mater of fact, they should have won that game had they stopped them on a 4th and 11 on the Sierra Canyon 36 yard line; with 3 min left in the game and one Sierra Canyon time out. Did Arroyo still stay in Division 10? No. Sierra Canyon is now Division 4. They Arroyo were competitive in Division 10. Yet, CIF placed them in Division 12, and they win the division. They get asked to host a Regional State Bowl playoff, instead they travel to San Diego and loose that game. Here is the problem, Arroyo still has not been moved up to even go back up to the division they were competing at a few years ago. Their team is better, and after all the hoop-la of last year, they go up only one division to 11. Hart drops them and I believe they don’t have a single team in a higher division. Smart move, why would they be moved up if you don’t play and beat teams in a higher division. Even Mt. View is playing a team 3 divisions higher. So, have some pride Arroyo, ask to get out of the MVL and play teams a bit better like Monrovia, Burbank, and Muir.

By no means am I a arroyo fan but you go out there to win the championship in your division from D1-D13 idc which it’s in if I’m coaching there I’m happy with a CIF ring.
    Congrats arroyo

I’m not blaming arroyo. The knights are doing their job. “Eat the food that’s on your plate” play the teams that’s in front of you. It’s just a stretch calling them the best offense in the area. hopefully they move up a couple divisions.

    Nuggertv,
Arroyo is good but not the best offense. Best in their league. Look at there level of competition. I would say bishop Amat , CO, st. Fannies ,CV, ( in no order) just to name a few.

These rumors about Camacho leaving or Tovar coming in……Guys just stop! Camacho is fine directing the best offense in the area and playing for the best staff in the area. PERIOD! He has no complaints whatsoever. As far as Tovar coming in…We would love it for sure, not many kids work as hard as he does but hes not leaving the swamp. Completely humble kid whos gonna cap an amazing career off by leading South El Monte to a great season. Not sure about the staff over there that’s a different story for a different time. End these rumors now… the two best players in the MVL are staying where they are. Has anyone heard Sal or EMC say different? NO! Just stop it already buddy TMZ = Fail! By the way my ring fits fine! How does yours fit? hahahahahahaha

True or not idk how coaches let their players workout with other coaches. I coach and would never let my players workout at another school or with other coaches from the area.

I’ve always advocated unlimited transfers, even during halftime of a game where a player’s team is losing, so the athlete can play the second half on a winning team. Sure, college scouts may not see this as great behavior, but it would satisfy the immediate needs of helicopter parents and delusional youngsters.

Tovar a workout beast?? At some point you need to get some kind of life and stop fantasizing on this website. Tovar is NOT a big “workout” guy, and transferring to Arroyo would mean death to his senior season. Im guessing South El Monte would call Arroyo out and make sure all the i’s are dotted and t’s are crossed.

    Get a life buddy!

  20. July 27, 2017 - 10:13 pm | Permalink

Here’s another fun one … Kevin Durant esk if you wil. How’s this for another rumor… Camacho stays at Arroyo, but South El Monte’s Sal Tovar who has been linked to Bishop Amat, now transfers into Arroyo! Now Sal Tovar who by all accounts is a workout beast… well seems he trains with Arroyo assistant coach Chuck Leonardis, who himself has assembled a who’s who workout group. Anyway word is Tovar is trading his wings for armor. Now I’d be the first to say I’d be shocked if this does happen. i can’t see this kid jumping to the dark side… can you? And what about undue influence? Seems very easy for Gallardo to challenge that if it did go down. Another thing if it did go down , MVL has all been decided and how boring that would be. SEM was the only team who had a punchers chance to beating the Knights but without Tovar that’s gone. The rich get richer the poor stay poor!

Those numbers by Ware are Impressive. Equally Impressive are Monrovia’s Javen Walkers Junior year numbers! You guys are sleeping on Walker. Let me compare 2 of the best linebackers in the are.
Walker 9 gm Solo tkls 59
Ware 11 gm Solo tkls 61
    Walker 83 total tackles
    Ware 102 total tackles
    Walker 8 tackles for loss
    Ware 4 tackles for loss
    Walker 1 interception
    Ware 3 interceptions
    Walker 4 Sacks
    Ware 0 Sacks.
These guys are impressive I hope to see both of them pre season and post season all area teams. If they duplicate or exceed their junior seasons I see that happening.
