(South El Monte) The South El Monte Eagles hosted the Schurr Spartans Thursday afternoon for a scrimmage in preparation for the 2017 football season. The two teams took turns working on both sides of the ball and the scrimmage terminated with a 15 minute running clock quarter. Here are a few sights from the scrimmage.

Best of luck next week against CAL. Wish nothing but the best for the players I coached a few years back. May the best team win in two weeks. I know both team will be fired up and ready to roll,GO DAWGS! If coach Estrada needs some help getting back in to playing shape,he has my number! Lol
And if my boy chokes,he chokes lol. It’s just a game papa!
Looking forward to a great game! I know both teams will be fired up and ready to play! Wish nothing but the best to the Spartans and those players I had the opportunity to coach a few years back! As far as Estrada goes,he does need to lose a few pounds. I’m here to help you lose it when you’re ready Anthony! May the best team win but,GO DAWGS
So what if he’s cursing, you’re right they’re young men. Those mf ‘ers say worse when they’re with their homies.
Alexander Jarvin Godinez
Lance Babb got hurdled!!! Anyone know who that kid is? Impressive!
@spartan dad … big difference between discipline and foul language … but I guess the A.D and principle are ok with that … and obviously you’re ok with that .
In love with Estrada ? No I’m in love good and respectful people … not a coach who talks down on other players or talks to his players like they are “homeboys” … but it’s a different generation I guess ….
@Former Spartan Dad
You seem to be in love with Estrada.
The kids haven’t changed, it’s the parents. Soft parents, don’t tell little johnny anything, don’t push little johnny too hard. This generation has the softest parents.
I’m sorry but in the real world there is only so much you can do for little johnny.
@nwo that must be most coaches everywhere now a days.
I never trust a coach who can’t demonstrate what he wants done.
@sparta .. worry about your first game before you jump into the second …
Good….they suck,should be 60! Just make sure you don’t pass out from calling a play fatboy!
Only 50 schurr will be dropping is on Garfield.
How is that negativity ? The guys dropping F- bombs to teenagers aka Young men … so you’re ok with a grown man cussing in the face of your kid ?
@sparta … “turd” really ? So basically he’s calling the kid a piece of s*** … ok ! That makes it all better from the F-bombs ! Now I can sleep better …
I think the only bombs hes gonna see is when Tapia throws bombs over his DB’s …
@former Spartan parent
Estrada must of got it in with someone close to you lol.
Positive vibes on the hill!
From the look of it, the offense looked real well rounded! Pounded it, threw it around and I even saw some roll outs! I like what I see from the offense, great job coaches!
Former parent….he actually went from F bombs to “turd”. He turned a little PC. How’s your sons nursing degree going?
Estrada needs to lose 50lb instead of dropping 50 f bombs! I’m worried for him! To young to be that heavy! Maybe he should workout when he runs his “speed camps”.
why so much hate?
get over it your kid is gone!
the program is looking good and there’s no need for negative people to be part of it.
Is coach Estrada still dropping 50 F- bombs on the sideline ?
Terrible tackling technique in the second shot.
The Spartans looked solid. Offense was rolling, defense was flying around making some nice plays and big hits. South El Monte good luck this year and stay healthy. Should be a great year on the hill!
So let’s hear it, how did the Spartans look? Did they look efficient on offense? Wondering if all the hype with Elias is well deserved?!!!
