Bryant’s number change is best understood as a shameless cash grab from the sales of new merchandise. We can expect more of the same behavior from Lavar Ball, the man who controls Lonzo’s every move. With this kid on course to change numbers at least annually, will the Lakers retire all of THOSE numbers, and if so, will there be anything left for future Lakers to wear?
