Are you ready for some football? I hope so because the season kicks off in just over six short weeks. It used to be the high school campaign would get underway on Labor day weekend.
Then it was moved up to the last weekend in August and now this year the opening bell is the middle of August. Are you ready for some football? In 100 degree weather? Now league play starts the week after Labor Day and the CIF Finals are the day after Thanksgiving.
Over the next six weeks we’ll post some schedules for the local teams, highlight some key games and feature some players from around the area to get you ready for the season. For now here are some key dates for the year 2018.
Thursday August 16 – Season begins with Week Zero
Friday September 14 – League play begins
Friday October 26 – Regular Season ends with Week 10
Friday November 2- CIF Playoffs begin
Friday/Saturday November 23/24 – CIF Championship games
CIF is filled with DELETED, this schedule change is just another in a series of blunders.
