Your point? It’s fairly obvious you’re a Schurr clown or something very close. Reveal who you root for..Everyone knows we’re extremely young and inexperienced. Get over yourself. Cal drop 63 on you last night. …

The entire Hacienda took a big sigh of relief. I wouldn’ count CO out entirely, but didn’t see any obvious strengths apart from some fairly good line play. Div 3 may be too tough for this group.

Yes, Cal is mediocre. That’s because Trudell is mediocre. Far as I can tell, there are no more transfer-scandalized teams for the Condors to whale on, so it’s important for Cal fans to cling to the memory of last night, when their team seemed to be great.

Is the El Monte back that good or is BP that bad? 310 yards 5 tds? I guess we’ll wait and see. SEM must rebound from this loss. I can’t remember the last time we were shut out in a game. The coaches must fix mistakes and be ready for Covina. They absolutely must be competitive in that game! Chalk it up to whatever you want first game jitters or youth, whatever you want. But, these Eagles pride will be on the line vs Covina. So will the coaching abilities as well!!!

As I said I picked the close to home ER-Northview matchup to attend. Out come was as I predicted. My first take is, is ER that bad or is North that good? Both. Northview very good in the skill spots. Quick backs and wideouts complemented by a big bruising inside runner. A team like Northview can lean on ER until they topple. They can with no fear go fourth and long and make it 75% of the time. ER has no such luxury. QB had trouble finding receivers so they had to rely on the ground game. This may have to be ER’s future because for the no huddle to be a threat you need to complete passes. That said Northview looked good and will have no trouble handling teams of ER’s caliber.

One last thing about Burns. He was off with his Colt Baseball team up until last week, and the season got moved up 2 weeks…so he has some catching up to do. He’ll be fine.

It does not matter what division Los Altos is in or what division we are in. We put them on the schedule, and they outplayed us, and got the W. We made a T-O-N of mistakes and good teams make you pay for those mistakes. We took home the L trophy. I’m as much of a Covina homer as they come but we got outplayed. No excuses. Congrats to Los Altos.

Charter Oak is a little down this year, can’t wait to see how things shake out in league. But doesn’t take anything away from Muir. They dominated the game last night, especially in the second half. Margin of victory could have been much wider than 11 points.

Since Schurr is so good at transfers, how about getting this whole pretentious program transferred out of the area? I suggest the high desert (or further) for this team that can’t even COMPETE against a mediocre Cal High group. I cannot muster the same kindness for Frank Gallardo, however, because anyone who has trouble with an Almont doormat like Alhambra needs to be banned from the sport for life.

Excellent Prediction for the Burbank game on you game night post.
The bank has had Monrovia’s number for 4 years, and I can imagine the “Kitties” will not want the work for another 2 seasons so that will probably be the end of that. Lot’s of excuses… New staff, young team.. there’s no crying in football.
Pacific League looks strong.. watch out.
From T. Peterson: I did get the winner right but I didn’t expect that. I didn’t think Burbank would blow them out. Good win.

From the Observant one. I was very surprised after seeing how Monrovia opened it season, but not devastated entirely on the results being its first game of the new season. My first glance at the score Burbank was up 20-0 and I knew the Cats would be in trouble for the remainder of the night if they didn’t get it together on defense. I give Burbank its do respect for taking the game to the Cats and giving them all the challenges they needed as a young and developing squad. My take is also that the Cats will learn where there strengths are sooner than later because it doesn’t get any easier for the next few games ahead. I believe they will make a significant turnaround before league play starts. Monrovia has a completely new coaching staff that have to make adjustments as they see fit and the kids will have to completely buy into these adjustments if they are going to move forward in the Monrovia style. Good win Burbank…… Monrovia will be work in progress.

Scary thing is they’re not gonna beat Covina so where does the next win come from? Speaking of Covina, SEM has got to stay competitive, they can’t get blown out! Else the seat will start warming up. Then the haters will appear

Hey man I can admit when I’m wrong. SEM put on quite possibly its worst performance… like ever! I hate to take anything away from Alhambra but SEM was just awful upfront defensively they were ok at times but gave up crucial first downs on third down. I’m not off the Gallardo bandwagon just yet. But can someone please tell me why he let so many coaches go? It was already gonna be hard enough replacing the senior class let alone replacing coaches too.
