(San Marino) – Northview fell behind by three mid-way through the third quarter and then ran off the last 21 points to beat host San Marino 28-10 Friday night.

The Vikings and Titans were tied at seven at the half, then the Titans took the first possession of the third quarter and marched down to the Northview 13-yard line where a 30-yard field goal gave them a 10-7 lead. It was all Northview from there.

On the next possession James Jimenez connected with Dashon Thompson for an 86-yard catch and carry for a 14-10 lead. Thompson caught the pass in the right flat and outran the Titan secondary to the endzone.

San Marino was forced to punt on the next series and Northview took quick advantage. Jimenez hit Damion Thompson for 40 yards down to the Titan 32. two plays later Jimenez brought the ball down and ran 17 yards for a touchdown to make it 21-10 with 1:27 left in the third quarter.

San Marino couldn’t rally punting on its next two possessions and Northview iced it in the fourth. The Vikings needed just five plays to go 64 yards for the last score of the night. Jimenez went 46 yards to Jamier Johnson who won the race with the Titan secondary for six with 5:34 left in the contest.

Things didn’t start out as well for Northview. The Vikes fumbled the opening kickoff and San Marino was in business at the Northview 20. On third down Kade Wentz hit Beau Hobbie for a 23-yard touchdown pass and just like that it was 7-0 Titans only one minute and 12 seconds into the game. Unfortunately for the Titans, that was their only touchdown of the night.

Northview tied it in the second quarter on a 37-yard TD strike from Jimenez to Damion Thompson.

Jimenez threw for 195 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 125 yards and a score on 17 carries. He completed 8 of 10 passes.

Hobbie had 12 carries but only managed 32 yards against the  Northview defense, He also caught three passes for 35 yards.

San Marino was hurt by three turnovers. Northview also turned it over twice.

Northview head coach Marcel Perez was ejected late in the fourth quarter for a sideline infraction. The officials had issued Northview a previous warning and according to rule, a second violation results in the ejection of the head coach.

Northview improved to 2-0 with the win while San Marino fell to 1-1.

They had two sideline penalty’s. Ref ran into somebody on two different occasion during a play that resulted in penalty’s. Head coach gets kicked out of game for that. Never seen that happen.

Saw on a twitter post North HC was kicked out of the game. Any truth to that?
From T. Peterson: Yes he was ejected late in the fourth quarter for a sideline infraction. It had no impact on the outcome of the game.
