Craig "The Duke" Snyder expects to play Super Ball this season

T-Minus-139 Days until “The Mid Valley Classic”

Good Evening!

Three rounds in and I still haven’t gotten the call…I’m starting to wonder if I need to change my career path.

Speaking of quarterbacks, I follow how the current Mid Valley poll is breaking down with the top four quarterbacks (Aaron Cantu, Nick Bueno, Michael Ball, and Steven Rivera)…Makes sense…But no love for Burbank’s Adam Colman?

Good question: Do you consider the question being asked in a poll or do you just vote for your guy no matter what?

This question came to me the other day…I was stunned.

“Oh what’s so special about Michael Ball?”

If you’ve ever seen Michael Ball play you’d know what is so special about him. He’s a threat to score from any spot on the field, he plays an excellent quarterback (29 Tds-9 Ints), and he can play anywhere in the secondary you care to name.

The struggle for Craig “The Duke” Snyder and staff will be settling on the parts around him. For the second consecutive year the Raiders lose a top notch running back (Brandon Stansell in 2008) in Josh Onovughe. They also lose a pair of killers along the offensive line in Stewart Hilton and Anthony White (no, not that one).

The good news is the very, very, under the radar Leonardo Freeman (who seems like he has been around forever) and all San Antonio League linebacker Louie Valdez are back.

There is hope Joseph Chong (6’2” 286 Lbs), a junior to be, will develop in the trenches.

The Duke will have his hands full right from the start with a non-league schedule featuring Baldwin Park, Cal, Rosemead, and Claremont.

Why is Michael Ball special? Because he makes Rowland a lock for the post-season…and in the post-season anything can happen.

Does the NBA, NHL, or MLB really matter right now?

Look I can do it too: The two finalists for the Temple City job are Keith Jones and D.J. MacKinnon.

…Or Erick Escamilla and Skip Picou… It’s easy to write it, it just doesn’t make it true, or always appropriate…

Besides I actually heard Matt Koffler was in the running, but is now entertaining an offer to be President Obama’s new regulatory czar for Wall Street or play the part of the villain in the next Indiana Jones movie.

Tim Tebow must not have been too Christian for the Denver Broncos.

Yes, I agree with the herd, he’s a long way from lining up behind center, but in the Broncos “Wild Horses” package he’s an instant fit…and should contribute in 2010.

After the Rams made their pick yesterday I felt like going up to Coach Spags, ala Michael Corleone to Fredo in Godfather Part Two, and saying: “You broke my heart…”

So I’ll learn to live with Sam “The Man” Bradford. San Gabriel alum Chris Walker Spicer, who currently lives in Oklahoma and TC football aficionado Diane Camerano, a Sooner fan, tell me I need to believe in Bradford. Okay, I believe.

By this afternoon I was beginning to wonder if anyone thought Jimmy Clausen was CFL ready…but I really like Golden Tate…and so did Pete Carroll.

Stay thirsty my friends…
