@Almontfan have you seen the rushing stats for BG and total offense not that bad and doesn’t look like a one trick pony. It looks balanced

South El Monte isn’t considered a quality win? Need I remind you SEM is coming off back to back Semifinals appearances. So beating SEM is considered a quality victory in my opinion. Alhambra is a good team. Even if they lose to Schurr oand or Montebello it doesn’t mean they’re bad it means they got beat. I have a feeling they win one of those two games. Where that puts them in the end who knows.

Its easy to look at Alhambra record and say they’re the team to beat. But they haven’t played anyone that you can say is a quality win… As far as SG, I am happy to hear positive things for that program once again! Been a while and hope it continues!! Have a hard time saying they can beat one of these 3 other teams when their lone win is against a -72 rated team! But never say never I guess… BG schedule ok, 2 preseason wins are vs D13 Azusa and 0-6 Norwalk. QB does look better, but only skill guy they have is that WR. If anyone can slow BG run game down and contain WR, BG is getting smoked. Not very physical team… Schurr and Montebello are both 1-4. But no one in this league has a schedule close to what Montebello played. Schurr schedule is decent too. Curious to see how this plays out for all of league. If people are saying Montebello or Schurr just dont have it this year, maybe they’re right but they dont play at the same level the schools Montebello and Schurr played this preseason. Alhambra has players to do it, does the coaching finally put them over top? We will find out Friday. BG doesnt look better than the last 2 years, but then again neither do the other teams so is this the year they’re finally even with the other schools? Should be interesting opening week that’s for sure!! My pick right now would be Montebello just because if they’re all even, then they definitely tested themselves the most this preseason. I could be totally wrong after Friday though.

Who have been a leg down BG.
Who has done nothing these pass two years BG
BG is no one. Alhambra will beat them by two touchdowns. BG have no real football players

The team that runs the ball the best and stops the run, will win the Almont. Who ever has the best offensive and defensive lines will make the difference. That is to be determined….

That old blood left on bad terms and has a history of having HORRIBLE sportsmanship. I really do hope your not one of the brothers (you know
who) and just please play according to the rules set in place. The
    Kids deserve it!

Let me ask all readers: if you were forced to bet $10,000 (that you couldn’t afford to lose) on one of these Almont teams winning league, who would be your horse?
The athletes on all these squads are virtually the same, so that’s a wash. The only thing that could possibly make a difference is the guy who is motivating and directing these kids. I’m going with the guy who has not just a CIF ring, but more CIF finals appearances than all the other Almont coaches combined. That’s where my $10,000 goes.

SG might bite someone in league. Coming off a BYE week and some old blood getting involved in the program, you never know.

Was there a change in coaching at BG from past two seasons to this season? If it boiled down to coaching then the results would be the same from the past two years in the Almont…
***it boils down to key players talent in the right positions to make plays and it seems like both schurr and Montebello have lost that this year…

Lol. BG will be third like every other year. Make playoffs and lose in the first round. This is Beltran’s third year thoe so I hope it changes. Who knows BG is a laughing stock.

Well here it is! Alhambra wanted Elias to go over, he’s 1-4 facing 5-0. Let’s see how good he really is, getting his offense up for league! I don’t know how bad Schurr really is but we’ll see Friday night! Time to show up!

I will not be surprised when Bell Gardens takes the Almont. Coaching will make the difference.

So this is finally Alhambra’s year? Is Schurr really as bad as their record? Can San Gabriel sneak up on someone in league ? Is Montebello making a run at the league championship ? Or is it BG that will champs ?

I really feel when it’s all said and done, we will not be surprised with the results.
