1. The Rams beat the Seattle Seahawks 36-31 Sunday to improve to 9-1 on the year. The Rams will face the Kansas City Chiefs, also 9-1, next Monday night in Mexico City.

2. Ram receiver Cooper Kupp suffered a torn ACL Sunday and is out for the year.

3. Louisville fired head football coach Bobby Petrino after the Cardinals fell to 2-8.

4. The New Orleans Saints signed receiver Brandon Marshall to a one-year deal. Dez Bryant, who was signed by the Saints last week, tore his Achilles in practice and is out for the season.

5. Joe Mauer, who spent his entire 15-year career with the Minnesota Twins, has announced his retirement. Mauer won the American League MVP award in 2009.

6. The Philadelphia 76ers acquired guard Jimmy Butler from the Minnesota Timberwolves  for three players, including Dario Saric and Robert Covington, and a 2022 second round draft pick.

7. AP College Basketball Poll – Top 5: 1. Duke 2. Kansas 3. Gonzaga 4. Virginia 5. Tennessee.

8. Adelanto at El Monte, Friday night, 7:00 p.m. CIF Division 13 Semi Final.

9. Former BYU star Jimmer Fredette scored 75 points in a Chinese Basketball Association game Sunday for the Shanghai Sharks in a 137-136 loss to Beikong.

10. Take time today to honor and remember all of those who have served our country in the military. Happy Veteran’s Day.

    The OC football dominance is really taking a hit this year. Only 8 of the 52 teams playing in the semi’s are in the OC. I guess the soccer moms are really having their boys play soccer instead.

    Apple Valley who beat Montebello last season in the quarterfinals Div 10 was a top seed a year later in Div 5 this season.

    @ Almont alumni: I wonder how it’s possible for a team to move five divisions—up or down—in one year. Talk about abrupt. Perhaps CIF makes exceptions for small schools?

    After a deep playoff run with a championship and state appearance, it will kick El Monte up to at least D10 . For El Rancho a semi D9, a final D8, a championship D7. Neither will sniff a title for the next 100 years.
