Hahahaha Friday Night is ignoring me! I got you get back coach. And please stop. You like an imbecile. You’re going against the very own system that got your pops his ring. Stick to moving the chains on Friday’s bud.
Friday knights is a moron, don’t even respond to him people.
@Nice
Makes all the sense in the world. Put a bigger emphasis on strength of schedule. Then you use the rankings for placement. If I’m not mistaken CIF has their own rankings as well. But you can use the rankings from CIF from Calpreps and max preps to have final rankings and place each team accordingly. 1-16 is D1 17-32 is D1 etc etc. that’s how you’ll solve the blowouts. Solving attendance is pretty simple too. Find a way to provide buses for students and parents even if you charge 2 or 3 bucks. People will go.
Commenter FridayKnights is right-on about configuring divisions AFTER each season. Hey, we don’t decide who finishes one, two, and three in league until then right? What’s the big problem? We have several professional ranking agencies (Maxprep, Calpreps, etc.) to help in the process, if only the ding-dongs at CIF would decide to make use of them. All I can figure is that many schools feel they can do an ‘El Monte’ by languishing in the mud, Alhambra-style, right up to the moment of big-time recruiting. With the transfers in place, the team then shoots through its lower division like crap through a goose. Good work, FridayKnights, and good luck next year to Arroyo.
The mere fact that you’re responding to me tells me that it’s a magnificent troll. Let’s not talk about dumb comments. You’re the king of that lately. Take wins like you take loses bro. That advice is free. What’s going to cost you is the time and energy this off season to stop the transfer express at EM. It’s looking like you’ll be playing second fiddle in the MVL for the next few years.
Anonymous makes her appearance once again but how dare she say she needs to Apologize for me? You should apologize for the lame comment! You should apologize for being the worst troll on the boards missy! I almost spit my beverage at my screen out of laughter with these comments. El Monte you can soooo tell you’ve never been here before a little criticism and y’all get get your thongs in a bunch. I’m pointing out very clear playoff flaws. Very clearly EL Monte should be equal or in a higher division than Arroyo having beaten us ….. riiiiiiight? That’s all I’m saying if you select teams after the season is over you’ll get more competitive games and less injuries because of equality. Having said that I’ll be in attendance tonight rooting for the kitties.
Let me apologize for Friday night. When he isn’t on the sidelines telling kids to get back or doing the chains or assisting the assistant he gets a little cranky. Don’t throw rocks when you live in a glass house boss. Is the title a great thing for EM and the community? Yes! Did they have to and will continue to recruit? Yes! Arroyo has been the kings of recruitment but at least they only recruited kids from El Monte. EM is getting away with the transfer express now but people will catch on and start making phone calls. I’ll tell you what, Arroyo won’t have the firepower to beat them next year either. It is intriguing to see EM the next couple of years. I would love to see them play an Arcadia or Glendora or Charter Oak.
@Cepeda
37 out of 38 years and 1 title.. That my friend is coaching. A good coach would’ve at least advanced past the 1st round. Nice try. Now go crawl under that rock with the rest of the Arroyo honks.
From T. Peterson: Neither an El Monte fan or an Arroyo fan but wrong information makes me cringe. For the record, Arroyo has won two CIF titles. They also won in 1986 with Willie Reyna at quarterback and D.J. MacKinnon as HC.
@Lions Roar – Embarrassing? Arroyo has made the playoffs 37 of the last 38 years. What other school can claim that? Singiser missed the playoffs once in 15 years. You’re saying he can’t coach? Ok you might win a title this year! Cool. Now act like you’ve been there before…even though well…uh…you haven’t.
Shut up
Adelanto is so good that they forced Whittier Christian to say screw it and forfeit. Should be a great game. Adelanto had a tougher schedule than El Monte but El Monte has the coaching. Athletic wise they are on par
Not all Arroyo backers are like Fridayknights. Some of us know when we get beat. We accept it as fact but use it as motivation to get better. EM spanked us this year. That did not feel good.
EM is a good team. I will be rooting for them to win it all.
for those of you that say EM should be in a higher division:
(according to MAXPREPS past 14 years records, excluding this year) overall record 65-81
league record 34-40 . CIF playoffs 0-5. Just how many divisions higher should they be?
answer none they nare where they belong. Win it and move up! I’ll be there, rooting hard as I can for the Lions. I’ll ask for forgivness from Knight fans after.
@Fridayknights
You and all the other Arroyo honks need to go hide under a rock somewhere. You got smacked and now your crying. The MVL title now goes through El Monte. And your ring also has an asterisk next to it. It says your soft….Enjoy 2nd place clown. Now crawl back under your rock.
I hope this isn’t the real FridayKnights cause if it is you sound pathetic. If we go to D8 you should be at least D5 than since you’re so much better, right? The only embarrassment is all that “home grown” talent year in and year out the last 15 years you’ve had it out the first round what 5 times and got your ship in what you would now call the weak d12.
LMAOO YALL BIG MAD CAUSE WE SMACKED YALL
Y’all so sorry…… go cry somewhere else you big baby… knights no longer a threat to EM and you about to cry on here but when Arroyo won the D12 championship when their only competition that year was the finals game and heart it was all good right ??? Em finally doing good things and y’all stay hating smh… EM wins y’all for the next 3 years no doubt
@fridaynights, shut up you bum. Talk about the pot calling the keddle black. You have lost all credibility, I used to enjoy your smack talk. Now you’re just an annoyance, I hope you go the way of that one cathedral guy and go away forever….
Finally El Monte plays a real team. But they still should be favored by at least 10 points. El Monte with all its recruiting and 6th year seniors should be placed in division 8! EM just played a team with 19 players! D13 is there for a reason it’s not there for EM who has close to 2500 enrollment! Adelanto is good athletically but coaching is suspect. EM wins a ring but it carries an asterisk by it! If they don’t win it would be an embarrassment!
Let’s go El Monte!!!!
Let’s go El Monte! Good job boys way to play hard best of luck
No actually El Monte is 10-1. With Marshall dropping their program they were short one league game.
Hey Peterson, I like the numbers. This is a very interesting game. Tempted to attend but Im looking forward to the potential Culver City/NV shootout. Last year, Covina beat CC 57-56, I hope its a high scoring game. BTW, Farhan Zaidi just left the Dodgers maybe there is new career for you in their organization.
Great stats, wish we had time of possession stats. I believe that would give us a better idea of what to expect.
Awesome job. Thank you
Peterson has spun some wild yarns in his day, but this tease it over the top. Of course El Monte rolls, as he himself stated a few weeks back. I like the story of this year’s Lions team; it has a nice ring to it, as in CIF RING.
El Monte is actually 11-1 actually I believe both teams are…
From T. Peterson: No, both teams are 10-1. El Monte only played a nine game schedule since Marshall dropped its football program during The season. Adelanto played a nine game regular season as well. So yes, you’re wrong.
20 interceptions?
Wow!
