(Crescenta Valley) – Paul Schilling has stepped down as the head coach at Crescenta Valley and offensive coordinator Hudson Gossard will take over Charles Rich of the Glendale News Press reported today.
Schilling spent nine years as the head coach of the Falcons, the highlight being a CIF Championship in 2014 as CV went a perfect 14-0 that culminated with a 21-14 win over Downey in the title game. Crescenta Valley won the Pacific League title in ’14 and also 2016.
Gossard, who played quarterback for the Falcons and threw or over 3500 yards in the 2001 season, has been an assistant at CV for the past 11 years.
Last year the Falcons went 8-3 overall and 5-2 in the Pacific. They fell to Warren in the first round of the playoffs.
“After an extensive and exhaustive search through a wide, and deep ranging list of well qualified coaching candidates, CV tabs there man.”
Same day coach resigns, they hire his replacement.
I bet the teachers union wishes the district would work that fast during contract negotiations. LOL.
To bad it never works out like that at Hoover or Glendale high schools.
this is wack bring EB back
Agree about Falcon football under Coach Schilling. Coach Schilling has been a great person to have as a leader of young men.
One note though. Coach Schilling will still be involved in the CV Football program. He will be leading the lower levels as the Head Coach of the Freshman team and a coordinator for the JV team. He wants to develop the players at the lower level so that they are ready to step up to Varsity.
We thank coach Schilling for his tremendous achievements at CV and wish him the best in everything he does.
